This study aims at examining clinically the criteria and severity assessment for acute cholangitis in Japan and overseas, and creates new criteria.

This study has been conducted as a Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare Scientific Research of 2008 and 2009, and was registered in UMIN (University hospital Medical Information Network) in 2009 as a prospective clinical research.
